Jonathan Chapa

December 26, 1988 — April 16, 2022

Houston

Jonathan Boyd Chapa was born Dec 26, 1988 in Houston, Texas to Juan (Johnny) and Jessica Chapa. On April 16, 2022 unexpectedly he was called home surrounded by Family.

Jonathan attended Reed Elementary, Dean Middle school, Jersey Village, and Graduated from Windfern High School. He also Attended and Graduated with an Associates Degree from Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh while living with a family friend Gini and her family. Jonathan had a passion for cooking from a very early age.  He was always watching videos regarding prepping, recipes, and benefits of the different foods. If you were blessed to eat his food it was amazing and made every dish with love. Elsa will miss that since he did most of the cooking for them. He also had a passion and love for plants mainly vegetable, spices, and heath related ones. The back yard is full of them, at times it would look like a jungle. He would read and gather information on plants and the benefits of them. He loved to talk and teach about them to anyone and everyone.

Jonathan was the youngest of 3. He was very close to his sisters Jackie and Janelle. Always ready to defend and protect them, but also at times ready to be done with them. The sibling bond, love, and support was always strong.

In 2012 he met the love of his life Elsa and her son Miguel. Then blessed with their daughter Naomi. Jonathan could not wait to be a Daddy and was so excited to welcome her. He was a very doting Daddy. Then in 2017 they were married and expecting their second daughter Nicole. Jonathan worked with them on coloring, writing, letters, numbers, played games with them, working in the garden outside, loving and respecting animals, and of course cooking. Naomi would stand by him as he prepared and cooked for them.  He would walk her through each step and allow her to assist. He loved to watch Nicole Dance and sing, his phone is full of videos. Jonathan trained in boxing, and he was teaching Miguel everything he had learned. His children absolutely adored him!! For Jonathan his family was most important and always was ready to teach them. He was the proudest Dad and their biggest supporter. His love did not stop with his children, he loved his nieces and nephew just as much.

He is proceed in death by his grandparents Boyd Goodson, Juan and Soyla Chapa. Uncles: Johnny, Chris, and Larry, and Aunt Anna. His stand in Grandpa and Great Uncle George.
